Project details

Structural Focus worked with HLW to thoughtfully renovate the Shangri-La Hotel and restore its former glory. Constructed of reinforced concrete, the seven-story historic building totals approximately 90,000 SF including the tower, pool courtyard behind and the subterranean parking. The renovations included a new pool in the courtyard, updated rooms and bathrooms, a newly configured lobby and common spaces, and a penthouse nightclub on top of the building. The structural improvements were based on the provisions of the California Historical Building Code.
