We are pleased to announce the promotion of Melineh Zomorrodian, SE, and Brendan Ramos, SE, MIStructE as new Associates at Structural Focus and the newest additions to the leadership team. Melineh and Brendan joined Structural Focus as interns over ten years ago and have advanced through progressively more responsible positions within the firm.

Melineh Zomorrodian, SE graduated with a B.S. and an M. S. in Civil Engineering from UCLA. She joined Structural Focus in 2008 as an intern and continued with the firm after completing the UCLA Masters of Science program. Melineh has extensive experience and expertise in structural analysis, design and construction administration for existing and new structures. Representative projects include the Red Bull North America Headquarters, Wilshire Boulevard Temple, Sony Pictures Akio Morita Building and the Ford Theatres. Over the past decade, Melineh has focused on her passion for engineering, a healthy lifestyle and Spade (her beautiful puppy). Further developing her passion for teaching, this year Melineh also became a lecturer at her alma mater (UCLA); she teaches Design of Reinforced Concrete Structures to engineering students. “I am thrilled about this opportunity and I feel fortunate to be part of the strong and inclusive leadership team that I have looked up to throughout my career,” expressed Melineh. “I am eager to take on this new role and contribute to the future growth of Structural Focus.”

Fellow Bruin, Brendan Ramos, SE started working at Structural Focus as an intern in 2009. While working at Structural Focus, he graduated from UCLA with an M.S. degree in Civil Engineering. Along with his P.E. and S.E. California licenses, he became a Chartered Structural Engineer of The Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE) – the United Kingdom’s professional organization in 2018. He’s also managed to make some time to get married, remodel his home, and have one beautiful baby (soon to be two). In concert with these personal and professional accomplishments, he has worked on high-profile projects in Playa Vista and more recently The Masonic Temple in Glendale and The Culver Studios Expansion Project. “Structural Focus has always been supportive in my career development. I am honored to be part of this exceptional, cohesive group of leaders,” said Brendan. “I am excited for the challenge and looking forward to growing with this successful firm.”

Needless to say, Melineh and Brendan are talented Structural Engineers with bright futures. We are excited to watch their achievements in their new positions.
