Hotel Erwin

The owners of the Marina Pacific Hotel wanted to add a new top story to their existing five-story structure and keep the building in operation during construction. Structural Focus structural engineering services developed an innovative design that allowed the contractor to lift the new structure over the existing and support it on new wall pilasters at the outside of the building. The addition triggered a full seismic upgrade, completed with minimal disruptions to the guests and operations.
