Structural Peer Review

A rigorous independent review, because some projects are too important to leave unexamined.

A structural peer review is an independent evaluation of a design by a qualified structural engineering team that is separate from the project’s Structural Engineer of Record (SEOR). It adds a quality assurance layer to complex, high-profile, or technically demanding projects, requiring reviewers who understand applicable codes and the impact of every design decision.

We can evaluate a full range of structural approaches our industry colleagues bring to their projects. We coordinate closely with the SEOR throughout the process, treating peer review as a constructive technical dialogue, not an adversarial one. Our aim is to strengthen the design and contribute to a successful outcome for the entire project team.

Our peer reviews are thorough, structured, and collaborative. We examine structural calculations, drawings, specifications, and design assumptions against applicable codes and accepted engineering practice. We know where design challenges can hide, where assumptions carry risk, and where unconventional solutions warrant the closest scrutiny. For projects incorporating specialized or emerging systems, our team draws on direct design experience with those same technologies.
