Agensys Laboratories

After years of occupying multiple buildings throughout Santa Monica, Agensys, a leading cancer research and pharmaceutical firm, decided to consolidate on one site. Structural Focus joined architect HLW to design three separate buildings housing spaces for Administrative and Manufacturing, Research & Development, and other amenities. The 160,000 SF LEED Silver certified facility holds over 300 employees. The new steel-framed structures are designed to enhanced seismic performance objectives and utilize state-of-the-art buckling restrained braces as their seismic resisting system. The project scope included the partial preservation of an existing steel-framed butler building to provide common space for meetings and employee amenities.
