Maria Mohammed

SE
Associate

Maria joined Structural Focus in 2013 and has extensive experience working on the design of new buildings and the retrofit/renovation of historic structures and existing buildings.

Maria traveled to Taiwan for earthquake reconnaissance following the 7.4 magnitude earthquake in Hualien in April 2024. The reconnaissance focused on observing recovery of damaged buildings—specifically, functional recovery of various building components. Data gathered during the trip will inform future building code development for earthquake design in the U.S. The trip was in collaboration with Taiwan’s National Center for Research in Earthquake Engineering (NCREE) and the New Zealand Society of Earthquake Engineers (NZSEE).
