Valley Beth Shalom Sanctuary

Structural Focus provided full structural engineering services to remodel of the Valley Beth Shalom Sanctuary located in Encino. The existing building is composed of plywood sheathing at the roof supported by wood joists which span to large steel open web girders. The proposed remodel includes the addition of several skylights at the roof, additional sloping of the existing slab on grade towards the front of the sanctuary and lowering of the existing raised concrete slab at the front of the sanctuary. We have also included the design of two additional exterior openings.
